August 10: Heartland Farm Tour
Kansas Farmers Union will host a tour of Heartland Farm near Pawnee Rock. On Saturday night, the Farm is holding a Stargazing event with a cookout and live music. The tour will also include some attractions in the Larned area. All are welcome. More details HERE. Contact Nick at kfu.nick@gmail.com.

August 26-27: Range Plan and Ranch Drought Plan
As part of the Amazing Grazing project, Kansas Farmers Union will host a workshop on Developing a Ranch Plan and Developing a Drought Plan for Your Ranch. Speakers include David Kraft, Dwayne Rice and Doug Spencer.

September 8-11: National Farmers Union Fall Fly-in
The 2013 National Farmers Union Fall Fly-In will begin Sunday, September 8, with participant registration, and conclude Wednesday, September 11, at noon. As the planning process continues, more information will come your way.
The issues discussed during the fly-in will center primarily around the 2013 Farm Bill, any legislative challenges it may face, and its implementation. Other topics that may come up during the fly-in include implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), the status of immigration reform efforts, and protecting the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS).

September 10: Livestock Watering and Electric Fencing

September 17: Short Grass Prairie Grazing Basics and Research
